John Ainsworth is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm.
John joined Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) Limited (OMAM) in September 2000 as Chief Executive.
Prior to joining OMAM, he was Chief Investment Officer and then Chief Executive for Hill Samuel Asset Management.
Preceding this John worked in 1990 as the UK Smaller Companies Fund Manager; in 1991 he became Head of UK Smaller Companies and then following the merger of TSB’s and Hill Samuel’s investment departments, John became Head of all UK Equities excluding pension funds.
John began his career at Williams and Glyn’s Bank in Manchester.
In 1988, following Williams and Glyn’s acquisition by Bank of Scotland and the establishment of Capital House as its institutional fund management subsidiary, John joined the equities team of Capital House as UK Equities Smaller Companies Manager.
He is an Associate of the Society of Investment Analyst and an Affiliate of Society of Investment Professionals.
