Ms. DeMaret joined Essex Woodlands in October 2001 and was the Administrative Partner prior to accepting her current position in Investor Relations in the Houston office in July 2008.
she brings to the Partnership over 20 years of experience from the international health services sector.
In 1986, as the Project Officer for a family health project in the Near East/North Africa (NENA) region, she managed the training of paramedical and auxiliary community health workers in Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan and Yemen.
Following the NENA project, Ms. DeMaret was a consultant for Helen Keller International (HKI) in rural Indonesia in a field program to reduce eye disease and expand educational services for the blind.
After HKI she was appointed Executive Officer for the Health Sector Financing Project with the International Science and Technology Institute (ISTI).
With ISTI, she was responsible for managing a $21 million collaborative health sector financing project between the United States Agency for International Development and the Ministry of Health in Indonesia.
Ms. DeMaret earned BA from Amherst College.
