Profile

Prior to joining GulfStar, Mr. Blackburn was most recently a Managing Director at Growth Capital Partners, a middle-market investment bank, where he was responsible for the firm’s oilfield services practice as well as its private equity sponsors group.
Prior to joining GCP, he spent 16 years in Merrill Lynch’s investment banking group in Houston, focusing primarily on the energy, construction materials and death care industries.
He has also worked in investment banking with CIBC World Markets Corp.
and Kidder, Peabody & Co. Previously, Mr. Blackburn was an Associate with the international management consulting firm of McKinsey & Company, where he focused on clients in the oilfield service and equipment industry.
He also served as a CPA with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells.
Mr. Blackburn has a BBA in Accounting and Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA with Distinction from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
