BRISBANE - 3 December 2013

Leading travel website Wotif.com has revealed it has more authentic traveller reviews for Australian hotels than any other site.

Since launching reviews in 2011, Wotif.com has seen a surge in the number of its customers submitting a review of their stay and has now published more than 820,000 reviews for hotels in Australia.

Wotif.com, which receives more than 50 reviews every hour, now has the most reviews for Australian hotels and has also notched up over one million accommodation reviews globally.

Wotif.com Market Intelligence Manager, Chris Tempelman, said the reviews were from real customers who had booked through Wotif.com and had completed their stay, bringing an authenticity to its reviews.

"Our customers can only complete a review by invitation, which we email to them a couple of days after they've checked out of the hotel," Mr Tempelman said.

"By allowing customers to complete reviews on an invite-only basis, it ensures we provide authentic, precise and non-biased reviews.

"Our reviews are easy to complete. We simply ask reviewers to give a score out of five for location, value, facilities, service and cleanliness and to tell us the best and worst thing about the hotel. That way we're able to get straight to the information people want to read when making a decision about where to stay when they travel.

"On average, 79% of reviews on Wotif.com are rated four, or above, out of five. Our depth of positive reviews shows most people who book on wotif.com have a positive travel experience and are happy to share their feedback and advice with other travellers.

"We're proud to have more Australian hotel reviews than any other site."
