Walgreens (NYSE:WAG) (Nasdaq:WAG) and Duane Reade pharmacies in New York are now offering flu shots to children age 7 and older, in response to the executive order issued by Governor Cuomo Saturday.

What:

  Flu shots available daily with no appointment necessary. Due to increased demand, some locations may experience shortages in supply. Customers can call ahead to confirm availability. Walgreens is continually working to distribute vaccine to stores in a timely manner to help serve the needs of customers and patients.
 

Where:

All Walgreens and Duane Reade pharmacies in New York.
 

When:

The change in age restrictions at Walgreens and Duane Reade pharmacies is effective immediately. Per the Governor's executive order, this is planned to be in effect through Feb. 10.

 

Why:

On Saturday, Governor Cuomo issued an executive order to reduce age restrictions for pharmacists-administered flu shots in New York. Under Walgreens policy, pharmacists can administer flu shots to children age 7 and older.
