Jan. 8, 2016 Wah Lee Industrial Corp. (3010.TT) announced its December 2015 unaudited consolidated sales of NT$3,667M, an increase of 6.56% compared to the same period last year. Cumulative Jan.-Dec. consolidated sales reached NT$40.04B, a minor YoY increase of 0.36%.
Full year 2015 consolidated sales were almost flat compared to same period last year mainly because of the slow global economies and, more importantly, the successful entry of Wah Lee into the new emerging industries: The emerging Green Energy industry is gradually benefitting from the removal of trade barriers upon solar industry in the U.S. and E.U., and the strong demands from the U.S., China, India, and the emerging markets. Green Energy industry sales showed double-digit growth in year 2015. Computer/Communication industry sales grew mildly from last year. Semiconductor industry was adversely affected by the soft demand of smart phones in China and the lukewarm demand in the global PC market. For the Flat Panel Display industry, the increase of supply and the consequent severe competition had depressed the overall pricing levels for the industry. Even though the sales volume increased, the sales value declined as compared to last year.
