Vivo Energy Mauritius Limited reported unaudited earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2016. For the quarter, the company’s sales were MUR 2,135,046,000 compared to MUR 2,379,445,000 a year ago. Operating profit was MUR 106,503,000 compared to MUR 90,903,000 a year ago. Profit before income tax was MUR 108,255,000 compared to MUR 90,121,000 a year ago. Profit for the period was MUR 90,793,000 or MUR 3.10 per basic and diluted share, compared to MUR 75,386,000 or MUR 2.57 per basic and diluted share, a year ago. Net cash generated from operating activities was MUR 84,392,000 compared to MUR 295,939,000 a year ago. Payments for purchase of property, plant and equipment was MUR 16,231,000 compared to MUR 23,215,000 a year ago. Sales figures in the first quarter of 2016 are lower than that of same period in 2015 essentially because of the lower price of oil on the international market.
