Vignette (NASDAQ: VIGN) today announced it has added email interaction capabilities to its Imaging and Workflow solution. The latest release of Vignette IDM gives organizations that handle document-driven business processes like claims processing and mortgage applications the ability to provide updates and gather supporting information via email and enforce business rules.

For example, if an insurance agent requests additional information on a claim, the customer can now respond via any email-enabled device. Once a response is received, it is automatically attached to the claim file and routed back to the case officer for further processing. Such interactions can reduce processing times and improve customer satisfaction.

?Organizations interacting with customers through email often struggle with quality, consistency and auditing these interactions,? said Leo Brunnick, senior vice president of products and marketing at Vignette. ?Vignette IDM allows emails to be generated and responded to from approved templates, and automatically captures the customer response. This enables case workers to more efficiently and effectively manage the business process and deliver a more personalized customer experience.?
