PRESS RELEASE

Luxurious in Zurich, rustic in Lucerne: "Open-air cheese fondue" Cheese fondue fans are now spoilt for culinary choice. Starting next week, gourmets can once again enjoy the delicious fondues high above the city on the roof terraces of both the Eden au Lac in Zurich and the Palace Lucerne.

Lucerne, 14 November 2011 (IB) - The views are equally impressive as both of these five-star hotels stand on a lakeshore - one on Lake Zurich and the other on Lake Lucerne. The only decision you have to make is whether you prefer to dip your bread into the fondue pot in a luxury setting or a more rustic atmosphere. While the Eden au Lac in elegant Zurich will be serving up a mulled wine aperitif followed by truffle fondue and wines to match, the Palace Luzern will tempt you with authentic offerings typical of Central Switzerland, including pumpkin soup as a starter followed by the unadulterated cheese speciality as your main course. In Zurich, the delicacies will be served with all the works including Christmas decorations, light cubes and hot-water bottles; an hour to the south-west, the atmosphere remains down-to-earth with blankets and lanterns. The luxurious option at the Eden au Lac, where the roof terrace high above the city's roofs is reserved exclusively for you, costs 310 Swiss francs for two including drinks. The authentic fondue experience at the Palace Luzern can be enjoyed for 78 Swiss francs for two (not including drinks). The open-air fondues are perfect not only as a romantic evening for two but also for a Christmas dinner with family, friends or colleagues: you can reserve a fondue for up to 12 people by Lake Zurich while your table is limited to ten people in Lucerne.

"A cheese fondue in the open-air is something really special." Beat R. Sigg and Markus Iseli, the managers of the two sister hotels, are unanimous about that. "It's most romantic when the first snowflakes suddenly begin to fall." Naturally, the fondue experience in their five-star hotels is not only open to hotel guests.
