"We want to encourage customers to choose the most efficient appliances possible. Energy efficient appliances deliver substantial savings over their operating life and our rebates help customers to overcome the increased initial investment," said Robbie Sears, vice president of customer energy solutions.
The tiered rebate structure for residential natural gas appliances is based on the level of efficiency and the initial cost to the consumer; as the efficiency rate increases, so does the rebate amount. Since its inception in 2009, Vectren's conservation programs have saved more than 16.5 million Ccfs, which is enough energy to heat nearly 20,000 homes for a year.
Vectren's rebate forms can be found at www.vectren.com. Forms can be completed online or printed and submitted within 60 days of equipment installation. To qualify, customers must use natural gas as their primary source of heat.
