Vår Energi announced today that it has been awarded a license to store CO₂ in the North Sea, in partnership with OMV Norge AS and Lime Petroleum Norway AS.

The Norwegian Ministry of Energy has awarded Vår Energi a license to store carbon in the Iroko zone.

This zone has the potential to store up to 7.5 million tons of CO₂ per year for at least 30 years, i.e. a total of around 215 million tons.
