V-Mart Retail Limited reported unaudited standalone earnings results for third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 3,264.889 million compared to INR 2,649.183 million a year ago. Profit from operations before other income and finance costs was INR 426.053 million compared to INR 240.502 million a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 417.226 million compared to INR 229.637 million a year ago. Net profit for the period was INR 272.060 million compared to INR 150.121 million a year ago. Basic and diluted earnings per share before and after extraordinary items not annualized were INR 15.06 compared to INR 8.31 a year ago. EBITDA increased by 61.5% to INR 483.0 million.
For the nine months, the company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 7,490.257 million compared to INR 6,306.616 million a year ago. Profit from operations before other income and finance costs was INR 529.687 million compared to INR 426.920 million a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 526.262 million compared to INR 412.900 million a year ago. Net profit for the period was INR 345.319 million compared to INR 271.493 million a year ago. Basic and diluted earnings per share before and after extraordinary items not annualized were INR 19.11 compared to INR 15.05 a year ago. EBITDA increased by 21.90% to INR 692.5 million.
V-Mart Retail Limited is an India-based retail store chain that offers readymade garments and accessories. The Company operates through two segments: Retail Trade, and Digital Marketplace. The Retail Trade segment is engaged in domestic sales to customers at stores. Digital Marketplace is engaged in the commission and other income by providing a Limeroad platform for vendors. It provides a range of apparel and accessories for men, women, boys, girls, and toddlers. Its general merchandise includes footwear, home furnishings, kitchenware, toys and games, bags and luggage, and crockery. Its Kirana bazaar includes fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) products, packaged food items, beauty, and personal care, home care, and staple products. It operates through approximately 423 stores across 26 states. Its stores are located in states/cities, including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal.
