UNIT4 : appoints Bert van der Zwan as Managing Director Benelux

Sliedrecht, Netherlands, March 20, 2014 - UNIT4, the global leader in software that supports business change, announced today that it has appointed Bert van der Zwan as Managing Director Benelux effective April 1st. Van der Zwan will be responsible for UNIT4 operations in the Benelux countries, taking over from Jos Andeweg who, after a successful 29 year career at UNIT4, has decided to pursue other interests.

Van der Zwan has over twenty years' experience in the IT and finance industry and has held various management positions at companies including WebEx, 3Com and Twinfield. Between 1996 and 2005, Van der Zwan expanded the Benelux division at 3Com from a small company to a market leader in network equipment and software, after which he took over management of the European organization. As Senior Vice President at WebEx, which became part of Cisco in 2007, Van der Zwan was responsible for the EMEA region. In the three years that he was employed by WebEx, EMEA turnover increased from 20 to 150 million dollars in recurring revenues.

Van der Zwan became CEO at Twinfield in 2009. He was motivated by a firm belief that cloud computing was the future of business software. Under his management, Twinfield successfully transformed from a Dutch-oriented business to a European leader in online accounting software. Twinfield was eventually sold to Wolters Kluwer.
