Unipetrol RPA to deliver aviation fuel for the strategic state reserves

UNIPETROL RPA, member of the UNIPETROL Group will ensure supplies of 40,000 m³ of JET A1 aviation fuel for the Administration of State Material Reserves. The first trains with the fuel, intended for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, have arrived to the proper storage facility in the last days. The deliveries should be completed by October this year.

The results of the tender for delivery of the aviation fuel for the state material reserves were announced at the end of last November. Unipetrol RPA offer was found to be the best among four companies which bid for the contract, being able to meet the requirements of the tendering authorities, including a stricter requirement for quality, in particular in the field of filterability of the fuel at temperatures as low as -55 °C.

"This is another step towards greater transparency of the economic management of the ASMRCR. This is to say that the government approved announcement of the contract and representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Defence were members of the panel which chose the winning bid. In the end, the bid which was the lowest and thus the best for the state won," said Pavel Švagr, Chairman of the Administration of State Material Reserves, providing more specific information.

"We perceive the contract with the Administration of State Material Reserves as a strategic one. We are glad that the ASMRCR found our bid to be the best and decided to purchase raw material produced by domestic refineries. The JET A1 aviation fuel supplied meets the most stringent of requirements for technical parameters," said Marek Świtajewski, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Unipetrol.

The current cooperation builds on the strategic contract concluded in 2013. This contract defines the conditions subject to which emergency reserves of petroleum held by the ASMRCR in the UNIPETROL refineries would be reprocessed if a state of emergency were to be declared with regards to petroleum.
