Global professional services company Towers Watson (NYSE, NASDAQ: TW) announced that Mark Reid assumed global leadership for the Executive Compensation consulting practice, effective January 1, 2014. He succeeds Doug Friske, who will continue to be part of the Talent and Rewards segment's leadership team and will be responsible for growing Towers Watson's executive compensation market share.

"Mark's extensive executive compensation consulting experience, coupled with his proven leadership across geographies and segments, make him a natural to take on stewardship of the global Executive Compensation business for the next phase of our growth," said Julie Gebauer, global leader of Towers Watson's Talent and Rewards segment. "With so much accomplished, Doug is ready to change his role and spend more of his time directly engaged with clients."

Based in London, Reid has been with Towers Watson and its predecessor firms since 1991. He focuses primarily on advising remuneration committees and boards of major global companies on a broad range of executive compensation issues, including incentive design and shareholder consultation. He is the executive compensation advisor to nine FTSE 100 remuneration committees, as well as to other leading organizations in the U.K., U.S. and Continental Europe. A fellow of the Institute of Actuaries who earned his M.A. in mathematics from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, Reid has served as leader of Towers Watson's Talent and Rewards business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) since 2010. He is succeeded as Talent and Rewards leader for EMEA by Chantal Free.

"I look forward to working closely with Doug and the other members of our leadership team to continue growing our Executive Compensation business globally," said Reid. "From say on pay, to the intensifying scrutiny of executive pay, to global competition for top talent, the issues our clients face in attracting, retaining and motivating experienced leaders have never been more complex or challenging."
