Span-America Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAN) announced today that Linda D. Norman, DSN, RN, FAAN was named to CABLE's 2012 Board Walk of Fame. Dr. Norman has served as a Director of Span-America since 2006.

CABLE's Board Walk of Fame provides recognition of women who serve on the board of an exchange-traded public company. The 2012 Board Walk of Fame was the third annual event in Tennessee to celebrate the benefits of gender-balanced board composition and promotes women directors as powerful role models.

Dr. Norman is the Senior Associate Dean for Academics at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee. She has been involved nationally in the areas of care of the elderly and quality improvement and patient safety in health care.

She is the co-author of over 30 articles in professional publications, including the Journal of Nursing Administration, Nursing Economic$, Joint Commission Journal of Quality and Patient Safety and the Journal of Professional Nursing. Dr. Norman is also the author or co-author of chapters or books on various nursing and patient care topics in nine books published between 1990 and 2011.
