On Tuesday, 25 September, Souza Cruz received the Época Business 360º Award, in a ceremony held at Casa Fasano, in São Paulo (SP). Some 200 people were present, among them the governor of São Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin, and the mayor of the city of Sao Paulo, Gilberto Kassab. Alckmin congratulated the award-winning companies and said that analyses such as these were innovative. "This initiative lets us know the companies that are sustainable and that have become an important asset for our country, of which all of us are proud," he said.
Fernando Bomfiglio, manager of Communications and Planning
for Souza Cruz, which won first place in the Agribusiness
category, received the award in the name of the Company
from Paulo Skaf, president of the Federation of Industries
of the State of Sao Paulo (FIESP). Bomfiglio used the
occasion to point out that the award gives credibility to
activities that have been bringing positive results to the
country for nearly 110 years. "It's important to point
out that a company like ours is able to renew itself and
ensure substantial results thanks to the talent of our more
than 7,000 employees," he said. Fernando highlighted
one of the pillars of Souza Cruz: freedom. "We believe
in the freedom of speech and choice but, above all, in the
freedom to do business and in free enterprise as
fundamental principles so that we may continue our secure
growth," he concluded.
The first edition of the Época Business 360º Award
recognized 23 companies in 6 areas: Finance, Human
Resources, Vision of the Future, Socio-Environmental
Responsibility, Corporate Governance and Innovation, which
makes it even more relevant since it analyses the business
as a whole. Within this set of criteria, besides the
recognition for its work, its production chain and the
excellent job it does with Leaf - which distinguishes the
Company as the world's largest exporter in Agribusiness
sector - Souza Cruz was also listed as the 4th best company
in Brazil.
