Software AG has appointed Stefan Sigg as new chief R&D officer. He will assume his responsibilities as of April 1st, 2017 and join the company's Management Board as fifth member. This appointment underlines the company's intensified focus on technological innovation in the rapidly growing market for new digital solutions - driven by the megatrends Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things. Prior to joining Software AG, Dr. Sigg held a leading R&D management position at SAP SE in Walldorf, Germany. Most recently, Dr. Sigg was Senior vice president and head of the SAP Analytics product portfolio, where he managed a global team of more than 1,800 employees. Dr. Sigg's new position at Software AG will focus primarily on product innovation of the company in the key areas of IoT, Real-time Analytics, Process Management, API Management, and Data Integration. In addition to his core task of overseeing Software AG's global R&D centers, he will also be responsible for research programs. Moreover, Dr. Sigg will co-chair the company's Global Portfolio Innovation Steering Team with Software AG's Chief Technology Officer Dr. Wolfram Jost. Together, they will ensure that the product portfolio reflects both market trends and customer needs alike.
