SCISYS UK wins contract to support nationally significant application

SCISYS is pleased to announce that it has secured a contract with the General Register Office (GRO), part of Her Majesty's Passport Office, for the support and maintenance of its online registration recording system (RON).

RON is used by local registration services across England and Wales to record over 700,000 key life events, including births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships, every year. It is also used by GRO in its administration and support of registration services across England and Wales.

The contract is for an initial 3 years and includes on-going development of RON in response to legislative changes. SCISYS will be transitioning RON into its ISO 20000-1 certified service management practice with go-live on 1st May 2015.

Andy Whitehead, Divisional Director at SCISYS said: "RON is a nationally significant application that most UK citizens will interact with and receive certificates from in their lifetimes.  Because of the sensitive nature of the data it holds and the high number of transactions it has to be efficient and secure.  Securing this contract shows that SCISYS are regarded as a safe pair of hands for mission critical applications."
