AS Aufzüge AG acquires Henseler Aufzüge

AS Aufzüge, a subsidiary of the Schindler Group, has acquired Henseler Aufzüge and its associated affiliates from the Henseler Brothers. The Henseler Group is an innovative, successful, medium-sized company that has made a name for itself mainly through its unique elevator technology. No job losses are foreseen as a result of the transaction and the company's headquarters and production site at Küssnacht am Rigi will be maintained and expanded.

Henseler Aufzüge employs over 150 people and is the owner of the unique 'Magic' elevator system, which holds several international patents thanks to technology that requires very low headroom and allows the elevator to be serviced from inside the car. 'Magic' therefore offers major advantages in both new buildings and in existing buildings which are fitted with new elevator systems.

The company headquarters, competence center and production facilities are to remain in Küssnacht am Rigi. The expansion will be completed by the end of 2012 as part of a planned increase in production capacity.

AS Aufzüge originated from the merger of medium-sized elevator companies and is a leader in the area of customized elevator solutions and maintenance services for a wide range of elevator brands.

Henseler Aufzüge and AS Aufzüge ideally complement each other through the combination of Henseler's unique 'Magic' technology and AS Aufzüge's strong distribution network. Being part of the Schindler Group gives Henseler Aufzüge access to the international market.

The Henseler Brothers are confident that the sale to AS Aufzüge is an optimal solution for the future of their company and for securing the jobs of its personnel.

About Henseler
Henseler was founded as a stand-alone company in Risch by Hans Henseler in 1960. At first, the company focused on mechanical engineering but from 1970 increasingly specialized in elevator production. In 1994, the founder's sons Kilian and Markus took over the firm. The company quickly built up an excellent reputation for customized and innovative elevator solutions. In 2007, the revolutionary elevator system 'MRL-Magic' was launched. It was very well received by the market and led to strong growth. On the back of buoyant sales, the company in 2010 began building a new head office and competence center in Küssnacht am Rigi.
