HENDERSON, NV--(Marketwired - Jan 19, 2016) - Rx Safes, Inc. (OTCQB: RXSF), the developer of autonomous fingerprint healthcare security products announced today that its consumer product, the Rx DrugSAFE®, a fingerprint home medication safe, will now be available through an in-store program being launched by the nation's largest retail pharmacy chain. The program is designed to utilize the close connection between pharmacists and their customers in an effort to help reduce drug abuse and addiction in the home, by recommending that their customers use the Rx DrugSAFE® to lock up medications that are potentially harmful in the wrong hands.

The new program is being launched initially in 2 states, in select stores in the New York and Nevada markets, with future plans for a larger scale roll out. This national pharmacy retailer dispenses more pharmaceuticals to patients than any other retailer in the US and had been an early online distributor of the product. They are now incorporating the Rx DrugSAFE® in a much broader program at the retail store level.

Pharmacies are a great partner because they recognize the Rx DrugSAFE® as a real tool for families to fight against prescription drug misuse and abuse. Information about the Rx DrugSAFE® will be made available to customers right at the pharmacy counter, and pharmacists will assist those customers who wish to acquire one.

"The pharmacist plays a very important role in the chain of healthcare and is the one healthcare professional at the community level who is most knowledgeable on how controlled substances can impact families, from accidental ingestion by toddlers, to experimentation by teenagers, which can quickly lead to drug addiction. Pharmacists also recognize that a real problem requires a real solution, and that is why they are offering the Rx DrugSAFE® through this in-store pharmacy program and via their online store," noted Mrs. Yarde, CEO of Rx Safes, Inc.

The company also announced that it will be launching a doctor-direct program next month, which will allow pediatricians providing healthcare services to at-risk families with vulnerable children and teens in the homes, the ability to offer the Rx DrugSAFE® as a device to securely and conveniently lock up their controlled substances. "The Rx DrugSAFE® is a necessary tool for families to prevent accidental ingestion as well as preventing curious teens from taking medications from the medicine cabinet," noted Dr. Mary Ellen Renna, a leading pediatrician with ProHealth Care Associates, a noted author with several best selling books, and a recurring FOX & Friends medical commentator and guest. This program is designed so that any time a prescription is written for a pain, stimulant or antidepressant medication, the physician will also provide a prescription for the Rx DrugSAFE® that their patients can fill directly with the company at substantial discounts. There are more than 58,000 pediatricians in the U.S. according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. "My colleagues will embrace this product because it works to prevent all the nightmarish things that can occur when a child or teen has direct, unsupervised access to controlled substances," continued Dr. Renna.

Drug abuse and addiction is such a serious problem, President Obama recognized this issue in his State of the Union speech last week. Democratic Presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, spoke of the issue of prescription drug abuse during the Democratic Debate, Sunday evening and Donald Trump and other Republican candidates, including Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina and Chris Christie, who have all had direct personal experiences with prescription drug abuse, have also been discussing the need to take steps to prevent addiction at its source. While this is a tremendous problem, we are happy that the issue is now getting serious national attention during this election cycle. About 2500 kids a day experiment with prescription drugs for the first time, and 70% of them say they get them from the home medicine cabinet. The prescription drug epidemic hits home hard, and families suffer tremendously when the fact is that simply locking up your medications could reduce drug abuse and drug addiction substantially. Rx Safes, Inc. would like you to join the fight by locking up your medications in a real safe, the Rx DrugSAFE®.
