RBR welcomes media reports on Chevron's plan for

Mozambique LNG project

RBR is ready to provide labour, skills assessment and training services to

the country's emerging ~US$50b LNG construction industry

RBR Group notes weekend media reports stating that Chevron Corporation has agreed to acquire Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in a deal valued at US$50 billion (total enterprise value of the transaction).

Importantly, RBR notes that Chevron Chief Executive Mike Wirth is quoted in these reports as saying that Chevron intends to see through Anadarko's proposed Area 1 LNG project in Mozambique "on the path that it is on".

Anadarko is a 26.5 per cent partner in Area 1 and the project operator.

RBR has positioned itself to be a key supplier of labour, skills assessment and training services to the Area 1 project as well as the other two major LNG projects scheduled for construction in Mozambique in the near term.

These projects have a combined capital cost of around US$50 billion and are expected to require up to 50,000 workers in phase one alone.

In the weekend media reports, Mr. Wirth was quoted as saying: "We like what we have seen on all the engineering and development and execution planning, and we would intend to see it through on the path that it is on. It is moving steadily towards FID (Final Investment Decision), which we support."

Anadarko chief executive Al Walker said at this month's LNG2019 conference in Shanghai that a final investment decision on the first two trains - with planned capacity of 12.88 million tonnes per annum of LNG - is "very close".

RBR Chief Executive Richard Carcenac said RBR looked forward to providing labour, skills assessment and training services to what will be one of the biggest construction projects in the world for many years.

"We have established the largest database of workers in Mozambique, we have the pre-requisite labour licence and we are a fully-accredited training organisation in line with Mozambique's requirements," Mr. Carcenac said.
