Taihang Special Vehicle Co Ltd has chosen Ruukki Raex wear-resistant steels as the material for the tipper bodies it makes. Established in 1952, Taihang is a Chinese state-owned maker of special vehicles. The company's parent is China Aerospace Science & Technology Group, one of the country's leading manufacturers of heavy vehicles.
Use of Ruukki Raex special steel reduces the weight of the tipper body structures made by Taihang and enables a new type of structural design. Use of wear-resistant Raex in the structures prolongs the service life of the tipper body and thus promotes sustainability. Thanks to Raex, the dead weight of the vehicles is lighter, which in turn means higher payloads and improved fuel economy. The good formability properties of thin, laser-welded Raex sheets add to the efficiency of the tipper body manufacturing process.
Taihang and Ruukki have signed an agreement allowing Taihang to use Ruukki's logo in the tipper body structures it manufactures.
