In July of 2013 in Aviadvigatel OJSC the results of the traditional contest for the Prize named after Pavel Alexandrovich Soloviev were drawn up. There were 33 works in total for consideration of the contest committee: 22 in the engineering category and 11 in the manufacturing category.

The First Class Prize named after P.A. Soloviev in the Category of Engineering was given for the work "Development and Implementation of Geographically-Distributed Informational Support System for the Project "The PD-14 Engine for the MS-21 Aircraft" (the authors are S.V.Bormalev, V.E.Abramchuk, D.A.Pryakhin, A.A.Chemus, K.N.Pimenov).

The aim of the work was to develop a project data exchange system in the Teamcenter Multisite Collaboration environment. Nowadays this system provides the process of design documentation exchange on a full scale thereby supporting the actual state of the project data for the enterprises-participants of the cooperation: OJSC "Aviadvigatel", OJSC "Ufa Engine Industrial Association", OJSC "SPE "Motor", JSC "SPC Saturn, FSUE "Gas-Turbine Engineering Research and Production Center "Salut", OJSC "Perm Engine Company", OJSC "Perm Company "Mashinostroitel", OJSC "ORPE "Technologiya", OJSC "Voronezh Joint Stock Aircraft Manufacturing Company".

The Second Class Prize named after P.A. Soloviev in the Category of Engineering was given for the work "Realization of the Modern Concept of Building of Automated Data Measurement Systems at the Rigs of Aviadvigatel OJSC" (the authors are K.K.Fatykhov, Y.V.Meluzov, I.Y.Akhmetzyanov, Y.V.Ognev).

The concept development and the refinement of the requirements to the construction of a modern automated rig tests management and control system was accomplished with consideration of achievements of leading foreign companies (MDS, Snecma) and from own experience in construction of similar systems. The chosen concept was used as the basis for development and implementation of automated systems for the core and PD-14 engine tests as well as for the tests of high pressure compressors for advanced aircraft engines at Aviadvigatel's rigs.

In the process of the core testing the amount of recorded and designed parameters was more than 4500, in the process of PD-14 demonstrator engine testing the amount of recorded parameters reached 6000.

The Third Class Prize named after P. A. Soloviev in the Category of Engineering was given for the work "Creation of Research and Education Center of Aircraft Composite Technologies" (the authors are M.A.Grinev, A.A.Zavadsky, M.A.Koshkarev, C.V.Troshin, A.A.Tomilov).

The Research and Education Center of Aircraft Composite Technologies was created on the basis of Perm National Research Polytechnic University. The main aims of the Center are development of new composite technologies and training of specialists for the enterprises of the Perm region.

When making a comparison between similar foreign enterprises (the University of Sheffield AMRC with Boeing, the University of Tavre Nimitech Center, the University of Le Bourget-du-Lac Compositec staff training center) it should be noted that the equipment of the Perm Research and Education Center of Aircraft Composite Technologies and its scale of work corresponds with the world-class level of science and technology development.

The First Class Prize named after P. A. Soloviev in the Category of Manufacturing was given for the work "Implementation of Optical Noncontact Photogrammetric Method of Overall Dimensions and Linear Deformations Definition for a Full-Size Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine Using Tritop System" (the authors are Y.N.Sorokin, T.V.Baidina, A.A.Shirinkin).

Nowadays the engine parts and assembly units control system is a necessary tool required at the stage of design as well as in the process of mass production of engines. Implementation of noncontact method for definition of their overall dimensions and deformations allows to complete the following tasks:

  • to check the actual lines of the thrust reverser, the nozzle and compare them with the nacelle design profile, to estimate the value of deviation of the actual surface from the design and nominal (drawing) ones;
  • to check the actual disposition of reference points on the engine with respect to the actual coordinate system;
  • to check the coordinates and dimensions of engine to aircraft connection places including the coordinates of the engine support mating points
  • to control the geometry of engine parts and assembly units (piping systems, brackets, devices, etc.) and to compare it with the specified engine geometry model;
  • to compare the test values of single engine components obtained for vertical and horizontal engine positions;
  • to estimate the effect of the engine position on the dimensions and coordinates of engine parts and assembly units.

The Second Class Prize named after P. A. Soloviev in the Category of Manufacturing was given for the work "Development of Production Technology for High Pressure Turbine Nozzle Vanes from Intermetallic Alloys of BKHA (VKNA) Type" (the authors are S.S.Rostovshchikov, V.A.Eliseev, M.E.Markova, D.A.Bulychev, I.A.Barkova).

Several model blocks assembly techniques, different variants of pouring temperature and molds heating have been tested in the process of technology development. Operational parameters have been developed and tested that allow to minimize the presence of casting cracks defects in the products and to provide quality in accordance with LUM-1 control. The parts produced on the basis of this technology have been successfully tested within the core and PD-14 technology-demonstrator engine.

The Third Class Prize named after P. A. Soloviev in the Category of Manufacturing was given for the work "Development of Software and Technique of Automation for Actual Passage Area of Turbine Airfoils (Airfoil Channels) Calculation Using Digitizing Data from Measuring Systems ATOS II è ATOS III" (the authors are A.V.Mikishev, A.A.Shirinkin, M.V.Shiryaev).

Implementation of calculation automation technique and software allows to obtain the actual passage area, not only deviations of some principal dimensions from the design ones. Besides the new technique with relevant software allowed to reduce the period of such calculations by 4-6 times.

Nowadays Aviadvigatel's specialists are working on the development of batch processing for  complete airfoils set calculation and automatic generation of inspection report file.

In addition to the election of the winners in the contest the committee decided to give the title of "Honourable Laureate of the Prize named after P.A. Soloviev" to A.N.Sazhenkov, Head of Measuring Instruments Department of Aviadvigatel OJSC.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The prizes and the honourable title named after P.A. Soloviev were founded by Aviadvigatel OJSC in recognition of his achievements for supporting the traditions of Perm Engineering School and providing the continuity of generations.

The Prize named after P.A. Soloviev is given in two categories - Engineering and Manufacturing - for the works in the sphere of creation and implementation of constructions and technologies on the basis of wide use of advanced technological achievements in design, production, refinement and operational service of aircraft engines.

The Title "Honourable Laureate of P.A.
