July 10, 2014. Aviadvigatel gave a nickel tour for prospective university students who are planning to go to the Aerospace Department of the Perm National Research Polytechnical University (PNRPU) according to the Company-sponsored recruitment program. Their parents were also invited. More than 60 persons attended the event.

The visitors made a tour to the Company's prototype production facilities, test laboratories and Design Departments. The young people gave a look over high-tech work centers, got wind of design engineers job factors, got acquainted with tools commonly used in aero-engine design. Development and modeling of the whole life cycle of any sophisticated product have been currently performed in virtual environment with specialized programs of computer-aided design.
Thereafter, the prospective university students went to the Department of Aircraft Engines of the PNRPU, where they were told about the learning process and environment, topics and subject-matters «penetrated» by soon-to-be design engineers of aero-engines and were shown the research and trial infrastructure, which are available for students' training. A successful career at the Company directly depends how deeply and thoroughly the complex program of high-school education is achieved. The prospective university students had the opportunity to ask questions to academicians and sophomores, who have been learned according to the Company-sponsored program.
Aviadvigatel has many years supervised the Department of Aircraft Engines of the PNRPU. Since 2001 Alexander A. Inozemtsev, Aviadvigatel's Managing Director and General Designer, Professor and Doctor of Engineering, has hold the chair of the Department. The Company invests their internal resources to improve the quality of equipment of the Department, employs funds obtained under the Federal Special-Purpose Programs, arranges training at their premises and updates education plans in accordance with variable requirements to specialists' skills, if required. The Department has full-scale mock-ups of engines. Up-to-date licensed design software, similar to that used at Aviadvigatel, was acquired. New hardware was purchased and is now successfully used by tutors and students for scientific research for today projects in gas turbine engineering.
At present the Russian Government makes a reservation for state-funded places for some specialities in the PNRPU so as to guarantee training of specialists for the military-industrial complex. Prospective university students, who aspire to occupy such places, happen to be in the challenging situation, when it is necessary not only to choose future professional occupation, but also an employer, that is one of the Perm enterprises, which are not generally known to school graduates. Aviadvigatel gives tours for prospective university students so that they could realize what will be they really at in five year' time. Parents of the prospective university students were also invited to visit the Company. Their experience could help their children to take a reality check and make a conscious choice.
The Company-sponsored profession-oriented recruitment has been conducted by Aviadvigatel since 2009. Students have a chance to do practical training at Aviadvigatel. Aviadvigatel pays for students' probation. Young people, whose mark of the Unified State Examination is higher than 200 points or who have «excellent» mark for end-of-semester exams, get additional fellowship of 5 000 RUR a month. Aviadvigatel guarantees their employment according to their speciality.
Last year more than 200 prospective university students applied for 36 Company-sponsored places. Group of students, who entered the University for Aviation Engines speciality (all in all 30 first-year students were the employer-sponsored students) had the highest rating for the total Unified State Examination score. 16 students were given additional fellowship from Aviadvigatel.
In 2014 37 Company-sponsored places will be provided for the following specialties: Aviation and Rocket Engines Design, Design Engineering in Machinery Production (Aerospace Department), Computer Technology (Electrical Engineering Department).
