ONE Gas, Inc. Announces Resignation of Pierce H. Norton II as Chief Executive Officer, Effective June 27, 2021

ONE Gas, Inc. announced Pierce H. Norton II, the President and Chief Executive Officer of notified the board of directors of the Company of his plan to retire as CEO in each case, effective as of June 27, 2021. Mr. Norton’s resignation does not result from any disagreement with the Board, including, but not limited to, any disagreement regarding the Company’s operations, policies, or practices. No changes have been made to Mr. Norton’s compensation, and the treatment of his compensation upon his retirement is consistent with prior Company disclosures regarding executive compensation. The Company and the Board have an established CEO succession planning process which has been ongoing and a continuous part of board oversight. The Board will provide additional details regarding the future leadership structure when available.
ONE Gas, Inc. is a regulated natural gas distribution utility in the United States. The Company operates through a single segment, regulated public utilities, which delivers natural gas to residential, commercial and transportation customers. The Company provides natural gas distribution services to approximately 2.3 million customers. The Company has three divisions: Oklahoma Natural Gas, Kansas Gas Service and Texas Gas Service. It primarily serves residential, commercial and transportation customers in all three states. The Companyâs natural gas distribution markets in terms of customers are Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma; Kansas City, Wichita and Topeka, Kansas; and Austin and El Paso, Texas. It distributes natural gas to approximately 89%, 71% and 13% of the natural gas distribution customers in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas, respectively.
