Mexico City, May 15, 2024 - Nu Mexico, a company known for transparent, straightforward, and humane digital finances, announces the phase-in launch of a new feature for Cuenta Nu users: the ability to freeze funds in Cajitas (Money Boxes) for varying durations, earning attractive returns through their annual rates.

This progression is part of the ongoing expansion and enhancement of services designed to simplify and enrich users' financial experiences, reaffirming Nu's commitment to accessibility and transparency.

"At Nu, we are constantly looking for ways to free our customers from the complexity of managing their money and to encourage the habit of long-term savings. With the new freezing functionality for the Money Boxes, our customers will enjoy another option to achieve their short, medium, and long-term goals, flexibly and profitably, on their own terms and according to their individual needs," stated Ximena Salgado, Product Leader of Nu Mexico.

Nu customers can choose to freeze their funds for periods of 7 and 28 days at an annual interest rate of 14.6% and 15%, respectively, thus ensuring they can plan their savings efficiently and benefit from attractive returns. Additionally, starting May 24, 2024, the Nu Money Boxes will offer a fixed annual interest rate of 14.5%, providing liquidity 24/7. These rates will remain active until July 10, 2024, when they will be reviewed and adjusted to factors such as the competitive context of the financial industry and the macroeconomic landscape of Mexico.
