Notice Concerning Switch to Virtually Renewable Energy Derived Electricity at Omiya Center Building

NIPPON REIT Investment Corporation ("NIPPON REIT") announces following switch of electricity power supplied at one of the properties held, Omiya Center Building, to virtually renewable energy derived electricity from April 2022.

1. Overview

Starting from April 2022, all the electricity used at A-52 Omiya Center Building, is switched to "Green Basic Plan*", supplied by TEPCO Energy Partner, Incorporated. As a result, CO2 emissions from electricity consumption at Omiya Center Building will be reduced to virtually zero.

* About Green Basic Plan by TEPCO Energy Partner, Incorporated  Green Basic Plan is a renewable energy electricity (virtually) menu that is compatible to

RE100, which combines the average of all power sources with Non-Fossil Certificate and Non-FIT-and-Non-Fossil Certificate (renewable energy category).

2. ESG Initiatives

Based on its management philosophy of aiming for stable growth in unitholders value over the medium to long term, NIPPON REIT identified the following materiality (material issues) in terms of sustainability, incorporating the perspectives of ESG.

NIPPON REIT will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals such as Goals 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and Goal 13 (Climate Action) through this measure that promotes one of our key items in ESG materiality, "Countering Climate Change/Enhancing Energy Efficiency."

3. Future Initiatives

We believe that actively incorporating ESG (Environment, Society and Governance) perspectives into our operation will contribute to our basic policy of "emphasizing on the income growth and stability to maximize unitholder value." NIPPON REIT will continue to put efforts on reducing environmental impact by implementing energy-saving and efficient energy use measures to its properties.
