Newcrest has announced changes to the composition of its Executive Committee. These changes follow the announcement of the new structure for the Committee in August 2019. The company announce that Suresh Vadnagra will take up the Chief Technical and Projects Officer (CTPO) role in June 2020. Suresh joins Newcrest from MMG, where he has served on the Executive Committee since January 2018 in his capacity as the Executive General Manager Operations ­ Americas. In this role one of his primary accountabilities was for Las Bambas, one of the world's largest copper operations. In December 2019, he assumed the role of Executive General Manager ­ Africa and Australia with multi-asset accountability for MMG's operations in these jurisdictions. Newcrest is also pleased to announce a successor as Chief People and Sustainability Officer for Ian Kemish, who will retire from Newcrest at the end of March. Lisa Ali, currently the Head of Transformation of the Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago and Interim CEO of Paria Fuel Trading Company, will commence with Newcrest on 29 February 2020. Lisa has had an extensive career in the oil and gas sector. Prior to being appointed in early 2018 to her current role she held a number of senior roles with BP across a 12-year period, including Head of Upstream Talent and Learning for BP's upstream business, Vice President Human Resources for the BP Global Operations Organisation, and Vice President HR in Brazil and Trinidad. Finally, Newcrest announced the promotion of Seil Song into the Chief Development Officer role with effect from 15 March. Seil is currently Newcrest's General Manager ­ Business Development, and will replace Michael Nossal who will also retire from Newcrest at the end of March.
