Company has adopted a new solution for inspection and commissioning activities to be recorded in real time, increasing productivity and assertiveness

New solution adopted by Neoenergia generates significant productivity gain

Neoenergia believes in process digitization as a strategy to accelerate the energy transition. In another step in this direction, the company began to adopt the Mobile Inspection and Commissioning Solution (SMIC) in the maintenance of its Transmission assets. The tool, installed on tablets distributed among field teams, will allow the recording of segment activities in real time.

The solution is an application developed with integration to the system already used for control and management of asset maintenance, the SAP PM module (Plant Maintenance). Among the available resources are opening and closing of maintenance and commissioning notes, collection of operation information, filling out checklists and registration of preliminary risk analysis (APR).

Based on this information, you can track activities faster - before, they were recorded on paper and then scanned." The new solution allows our teams a significant productivity gain - what was previously done in about four hours can now be completed in half an hour. In addition, we gain more assertiveness and traceability of information, reduce errors and even help our environment by reducing paper consumption",says Carlos Eduardo Begosso, Superintendent of Operation and Maintenance in Transmission at Neoenergia.

This system is also used to meet the Geospatialized Transmission Management System (GGT), a process controlled by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) to comply with the regulatory requirement for preventive maintenance of servitude ranges - areas around transmission lines where constructions are not allowed. The new SMIC allows, among other features, technicians to make the necessary photos to prove inspections, which are automatically sent with date, time and geographic coordinate markings. These activities aim to maintain the cleanliness of safety lanes, reducing the risk of shutdowns of lines by fires and fires.

Tablets on which the solution was installed can be used even in remote areas with connection difficulties. The SMIC system operates offline and, after the technician returns to an area with internet access, the recorded data is sent to SAP, which records the tasks performed.

Neoenergia already uses other technologies in the processes of operation and maintenance of transmission assets. An example is the augmented reality devices acquired to assist in service surveillance, maneuvering and inspection of equipment and training, among other functionalities. During one of the most critical periods of the covid-19 pandemic, in July 2020, these devices allowed the commissioning of imported equipment to start the operation of the Biguaçu substation (SC). The use of this tool has been extended to distribution activities.

Distribution

The distributors of the Neoenergia Coelba (Bahia), Neoenergia Pernambuco (Pernambuco), Neoenergia Cosern (Rio Grande do Norte), Neoenergia Elektro (São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul) and Neoenergia Brasília (Distrito Federal) group also use solutions similar to SMIC for the management of activities. The companies have a mobility system in the field, ClickSoftware, which automatedly routes the daily activities of teams for emergency, commercial and preventive care, in addition to allowing the registration of this work.
