Nanogate AG (ISIN DE000A0JKHC9), a leading international systems provider for nanotechnology, is stepping up its activities in the growing market for functional textiles and care products. The company is pooling these operations at Nanogate Textile & Care Systems GmbH (formerly FNP GmbH) to enable the firm to capitalise better on the opportunities in this field. This step will be taken with retrospective effect as of 1 January 2012. In addition to this, the Group is currently holding promising talks with new sales and collaboration partners. Nanogate AG itself will concentrate on its role as a holding company in the future, focusing on the operational and strategic management of its equity holdings, central material development and production, and central functions such as accounting, financial controlling and procurement for all Group companies.

Ralf Zastrau, CEO of Nanogate AG, commented: "The market for high- performance surfaces offers Nanogate huge potential in the field of functional textiles and care products for sport and leisure articles, for example. Especially following completion of the Nanogate innovation initiative, we have started mass-producing many new products, which are now being successfully marketed by our partners. We want to build on these foundations and tap this lucrative market faster, in addition to via our equity holding in Holmenkol AG. We expect sales to comfortably reach seven figures and earnings to be clearly positive as early as the 2012 financial year."

Nanogate has a well-established product portfolio and a growing customer base both for enhancing functional textiles and for premium products with applications in the areas of sport and leisure.

In light of this, the new company will also be responsible for the strategic cooperation with GEA Air Treatment GmbH. The two companies received their first joint orders in 2011. As part of their partnership, both firms have added a new generation of filter systems to their product ranges.

Holger Zytur was appointed as an additional Managing Director, having previously been responsible for these application areas. "Last year, millions of products for use in the fields of functional textiles and sport/leisure were enhanced using Nanogate-Technologie, and this figure is rapidly rising. We will continue on our growth path with Nanogate Textile & Care Systems GmbH and offer our clients even better service plus many more innovations."
