Macy's, Inc. announced that it will close eight stores in Texas, including locations at Southwest Center Mall in Dallas and Collin Creek Mall in Plano. It will continue to operate 13 stores in North Texas. The only Macy's store in Tyler will close, and the Houston market was hit hard by the announcement. Macy's announced in August that it would close 100 stores in 2016 and 2017, and the 68 closings announced are part of that nationwide plan to streamline its business. The stores will close sometime in the spring.
