Lafayette Savings Bank Commemorates 145 Years with a Celebration, Press Conference, Gift to Riverfront Enhancement

Monday, June 30, 2014 (Lafayette, IN)

Randolph F. Williams, President/CEO, is pleased to announce that Lafayette Savings Bank will be celebrating 145 years on July 1, 2014.

Lafayette Savings Bank was founded on July 1, 1869 by John Purdue, the same year he founded Purdue University. To commemorate 145 years of business, Lafayette Savings Bank is hosting a community celebration on "Founders Day", Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

As part of the celebration, a press conference will be held on Tuesday, July 1 at 10:00 a.m., ET, at Lafayette Savings Bank, 22 North Second Street (the Mortgage Center building/LSB Annex), 4th Floor Conference Room. Lafayette Savings Bank will present the Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette with a check for $25,000.

"Our gift to the Community Foundation goes toward an endowment to enhance the Wabash riverfront corridor," said Randolph F. Williams, President/CEO of Lafayette Savings Bank. "Beautifying the green spaces adjacent to the river is an initiative dear to our hearts as Lafayette Savings Bank is the 'bank on the Wabash.' The gift also follows suit with our 'green' initiatives."

Recently, Lafayette Savings Bank partnered with Old National Bank headquartered in Evansville, Indiana. Williams said, "Outside our Lafayette doors, the Wabash River flows southward, through the state, and meets with the Ohio River, where the staff of the Old National Bank enjoys a spectacular water view. Our gift to enhance the Lafayette community's enjoyment of the Wabash River connects us all."

Lafayette Savings Bank invites the public to festivities on July 1, downtown, 101 Main Street.
