Kumagai Gumi Co.,Ltd. reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter ended September 2016. For the period, the company reported net sales of completed construction contracts of JPY 155,150 million against JPY 163,924 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 10,639 million against JPY 9,007 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of parent was JPY 7,042 million or JPY 18.85 per share against JPY 7,988 million or JPY 21.37 per share a year ago.
For the full year ending March 2017 on consolidated basis, the company expected net sales of completed construction contracts of JPY 352,100 million, operating income of JPY 16,900 million and profit attributable to owners of parent of JPY 12,400 million or JPY 33.19 per share.
Kumagai Gumi Co Ltd is mainly engaged in the construction business and related business. The Company operates in three business segments. The Civil Works segment is engaged in the investigation, survey, planning, design, supervisor of construction works, and the provision of general engineering. The Construction segment is engaged in the investigation, survey, planning, design, supervisor of construction of apartment houses, offices and government buildings, factories, power stations. The Subsidiaries segment conducts construction business, the manufacture and sale of equipment for construction, and provision of construction technology products.
