Togliatti, Russia - March 13, 2017 - As a consequence of the fire incident at the CXO unit in Togliatti on March 12, 2017, KuibyshevAzot has to declare Force Majeure on deliveries of cyclohexanone, caprolactam and polyamide-6 chips from its site in Togliatti, Russia until further notice.

On March 12, 2017 at 11:15 a.m. a fire occurred at shop No. 35 (cyclohexanone production). Services of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were called to the accident site for firefighting. As a result of well-coordinated actions of the plant personnel and the personnel of the emergency services, there was no threat to nearby units and plants. No one was injured. Mobile laboratories of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Federal Agency for supervision of natural resources use were performing air analysis on the perimeter of the enterprise. There was no observation of exceeding of the maximum allowable concentrations. First the fire was brought under control and then eliminated completely. The causes of the fire are determined by a special commission; the results will be reported additionally. The fire damaged 1 out of 5 existing cyclohexane oxidation plants. All other shops of the enterprise operate in the usual mode. Supply of ammonia, fertilizers and industrial gases is carried out in accordance with the existing obligations.

KuibyshevAzot is currently not able to specify how long this situation will last. Meanwhile KuibyshevAzot is implementing measures to limit the consequences for its customers and will continuously inform them about the supply capability of the affected products.
