Companies Announcements Office Australian Securities Exchange

30 June 2017 Dear Sir/Madam,

Guidelines issued for proposed deep water wharf

Kangaroo Island Plantation Timbers Ltd (KPT or the Company) is pleased to announce that it has now received the guidelines that must be addressed in the environmental reporting regarding KPT's proposed deep-water, multi-user wharf at Smith Bay on Kangaroo Island. The guidelines have been developed by the independent Development Assessment Commission of South Australia and approved by the Environment Protection Authority of South Australia.

The reporting guidelines have been received on an embargoed basis, pending publication on Thursday 6 July 2017, at which time the Company will make a further announcement on the substance of the guidelines and their implications (if any) for the costs and likely timing of the development assessment process.

The issue of final guidelines is an important step in the Major Projects process and allows the Company to proceed with a much higher degree of certainty about the matters it must address in order to secure development consent in a timely fashion, with reasonable conditions.

Yours sincerely,

Victoria Allinson Company Secretary
