KEPPEL TELECOM. & TRANSPORT. LTD. Appoints its new Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Keppel Logistics
Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation Ltd (Keppel T&T) is pleased to announce the appointments of its Chief Financial Officer, as well as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Keppel Logistics Pte Ltd.
As part of Keppel Group's career development framework and succession planning for key executives, Ms Tan Eng Hwa (陈英华) will be appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Keppel T&T with effect 1 January 2016. Reporting to the CEO of Keppel T&T, Ms Tan will oversee Keppel T&T's financial functions, including managing capital, finance, tax and investments. She takes over from Ms Chan Shui Har (陳叡葭) who will be relinquishing this portfolio. Ms Chan, 63, will remain as Deputy CEO of Keppel T&T.
Ms Tan is currently the General Manager of Group Internal Audit at Keppel Corporation. Prior to joining Keppel in 2007, she was the Global Retail Financial Operations Advisor at ExxonMobil. Her career at ExxonMobil spanned over 23 years covering different markets in various leadership roles supervising IT system implementation, business analysis, marketing distribution and planning, financial reporting and audit functions. Earlier this year, Ms Tan received the Special Recognition Award from the Securities Investors Association (Singapore)'s Investors' Choice Awards for the Internal Audit Excellence category.
On Ms Tan's appointment, Mr Thomas Pang Thieng Hwi (冯廷辉), CEO of Keppel T&T, said, 'Bringing her wealth of experience as well as her proven track record in Keppel to the team, I am confident that Eng Hwa will be able to build on the strong foundations that Shui Har has set in place to help spur the company's growth.'
He added, 'I would also like to thank Shui Har for her contributions these past five years. Together with the management team, she has helped Keppel T&T deliver creditable results to shareholders during her tenure.'
Ms Tan, 56, obtained a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree with second upper honours in Economics and Statistics from the National University of Singapore.
Separately, Mr Desmond Gay Kah Meng (倪家明) will be appointed as CEO of Keppel Logistics Pte Ltd with effect from 1 December 2015. Keppel Logistics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel T&T, which offers integrated third-party logistics solutions. Reporting to Mr Thomas Pang, Mr Desmond Gay will spearhead Keppel T&T's efforts to grow its logistics business in Asia Pacific, excluding China.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Desmond Gay was the CEO of JGL Group Ltd, an Asia-based third-party logistics provider of integrated forwarding and logistics solutions, spanning over nine countries. As an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the logistics industry, he held increasingly senior management positions in companies including Air Express International, DHL Danzas Air and Ocean, DHL Exel Supply Chain within Deutsche Post AG, DTW Logistics Group (former joint venture partner of FEDEX China) and Jacobson Companies.
Mr Pang said, 'Desmond's strong regional experience will help Keppel Logistics accelerate its growth, and focus on target market segments where we are able to offer compelling solutions to our customers.'
Mr Desmond Gay, 55, graduated from Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois, USA with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and holds a Master of Business Administration (with a major in Finance) from the same university.
