KB Home (NYSE: KBH), one of the nation's largest and most recognized homebuilders, today announced that it has purchased lots for several new communities in popular Houston submarkets including Anserra and Waterstone in Katy, Canterbury Park in Pearland, Tour 18 in Humble, and Wedgewood Falls in Conroe, the latest in a series of significant acquisitions executed by the builder in the greater Houston-area. Including the 909 homesites gained by KB Home in these transactions, in 2013 alone the builder acquired ownership or control of more than 3,600 lots in the greater Houston area, representing a 414% increase over the number of lots it acquired in 2012.

KB Home has been building in Houston since 1999 and currently has new home communities open for sales at 21 Houston-area locations, with 10 new communities expected to open in the next several months. Most recently, KB Home debuted its Katy Oaks community in Katy, Tuscan Lakes in League City, and Klein Arbor in Houston.

In Katy, KB Home acquired 334 lots for its Anserra community, and 154 additional lots in its Waterstone community. Scheduled for grand openings in early 2014, both neighborhoods will be served by the highly-rated Katy Independent School District and offer convenient access to the proposed Grand Parkway in Katy.

KB Home purchased more than 60 acres for 200 Built to Order homes in a new community called Wedgewood Falls in Conroe. Featuring golf course views and treed lots, Wedgewood is scheduled to open in January with home prices anticipated to start from the $200,000s.

KB Home's Canterbury Park in Pearland, Texas will offer 157 new KB homes. Pricing at the community, currently scheduled to debut in January, is anticipated to begin from the $190,000s.
