Jungo Ltd. announced the release of a new version of MediaCore, its automotive grade multimedia middleware. MediaCore will be demonstrated at the Computer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from January 8 to 11. MediaCore enables the rapid development of embedded multimedia players for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. It meets both the rising need of OEMs for scalable and affordable solutions and user demand for sophisticated in-car technologies and connectivity into their smartphones and tablets.

Jungo's cutting-edge multimedia middleware facilitates the rapid and cost-effective product development that Tier 1 suppliers require. The new version of MediaCore has been tested and validated with GENIVI(R) platforms and for component compliancy as part of WWG (Works With GENIVI) program. It is also compatible with Apple Made For iPod, Pandora Radio and Gracenote certification.

Other highlights include: A simplified and powerful multimedia client API framework for rapid development of customized interfaces (HMI). Supports connectivity for the most popular consumer smartphones and tablets over a variety of protocols, including from local devices to 3G and 4G internet access. A custom Media Source plugin framework enabling the flexible addition of new multimedia sources such as Bluetooth paired devices.

Enhanced audio and video playback management. Improved operating system and platform portability for shorter development and validation cycles and better code reuse.
