JAIZ BANK PLC

Annual Report and Financial Statements

OUR PEOPLE, CULTURE AND DIVERSITY

At Jaiz Bank PLC, we recognize the importance of having a diverse and inclusive workplace. We are aware that having a variety of viewpoints and experiences helps our business because it enables us to provide better service to our clients. We also acknowledge that it promotes a cooperative atmosphere in which dynamic idea exchange benefits everyone. It is essential to be able to collaborate with people who have a variety of values and cultures in today's very diverse workplaces. The guiding principles of an organization shape its culture. Employees wanted to experience a sense of belonging, of having their values recognized, appreciated, and understood. They must feel that their worries and ideas are being taken seriously. High levels of drive and momentum are fostered by those conditions, which also promote high levels of performance and job satisfaction.

At Jaiz Bank PLC, we encourage a diverse workplace where everyone is treated fairly regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, or physical condition. We are better able to represent both the people we serve and the wider world thanks to this broad collection. But it achieves much more than that. Research shows that diversity in the workplace fosters innovation. Some cultures and ethnic groups value fierce competition and individualism. While some people value patience, a sense of community, and teamwork, others can cherish direct power and seclusion. Other cultures could be overly obedient to the ruler. When it comes to private matters, some cultures are highly reserved

Employees might not be aware of how drastically different their ideals are. Cultural homogeneity is not guaranteed by international law. It's important to maintain an open mind to variances and solicit the help of your personnel because it might be challenging to continue understanding the cultures within your firm.

In line with what we demand of our clients and partners, the Bank is committed to establishing herself as a pioneer among member organizations that include diversity and inclusion. This entails establishing a welcoming workplace where each worker can realize their full potential as well as luring, nurturing, and preserving a varied talent pool.

Promoting workforce diversity in the workplace is an important aspect of good people management. It is about valuing everyone in the organisation as an individual. However, to reap the benefits of a diverse workforce, its vital to have an inclusive environment where everyone feels able to participate and achieve their potential.

It may be a significant challenge to figure with people and cultures where others have values, beliefs and certain conventions that are distinctly different from yours. Differences can result in increased resistance to leadership and alter because others may not understand and trust you.

Although working in highly diverse and multicultural organizations comes with its unique challenges, it comes with many benefits, as well. There are few other such powerful experiences within which employees learn a lot about people and the systems and also about our self.

As at December 2022, the Bank currently employs 821 permanent employees, representing all genders, ages, nationalities, and Nigeria's six geopolitical zones. The diversity of Jaiz Bank's staff is summarized below.
