Block-modular boiler house No. 25 (BMK-25) of PJSC Irkutskenergo (a company forming part of EuroSibEnergo Group) is put into operation in Bratsk

The opening ceremony was attended by the acting governor of the Irkutsk Region Sergey Eroschenko, the mayor of Bratsk Sergey Serebrennikov, the CEO of JSC EuroSibEnergo Vyacheslav Solomin and the CEO of PJSC Irkutskenergo Oleg Prichko.

On August 31, a commission under the Yenisei Administration of the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision granted permission to put the transformer substation of the gas-fueled block-modular boiler house (BMK-25) into operation. The company had been carrying out start-up and adjustment work at the boiler house since September 1; these included individual tests of boiler units involving operation at full capacity, comprehensive tests of boilers, adjustment of their mode of operation and preparation of parameter charts.

BMK-25 (with a heat generating capacity of 25 MW and annual heat output of 90,000 GCal) is an industrial complex comprising several ready-to-use modules in which all major equipment has been installed and connected. Operation of this facility requires a minimum number of operating personnel and does not require constant monitoring, as all major equipment is operated automatically and is fitted with an alarm system, which has been installed on the remote control panel and is triggered in case of emergencies. Assembly tests had been done in the factory, which helps minimize the amount of on-site installation, start-up and adjustment operations.

Sergey Eroschenko, acting governor of the Irkutsk Region: "Enterprises of this kind form part of a new heat generation culture. Gas-fueled boiler houses not only enable us to tackle issues related to heat supply, but also help reduce negative environmental impacts, which is crucial for Bratsk. For instance, this boiler house alone will help reduce ash, soot and sulfur emissions by about 300 tons per year. In addition, gas producers will have the first large gas consumer in Bratsk, which is also important. In the future, we will continue to create environmentally friendly facilities in the region."

Vyacheslav Solomin, CEO of JSC EuroSibEnergo: "The block-modular boiler house is EuroSibEnergo's latest investment project focused on infrastructure in the Irkutsk Region. The launch of the boiler house will make it possible to improve the reliability of heat supply to the city, curb the growth of heat prices and make the urban environment more pleasant. It is projects of this kind, which are efficient, innovative and environmentally friendly, that will form the basis for the development of the energy sector in the Irkutsk Region."

Oleg Prichko, CEO of PJSC Irkutskenergo: "We are glad that the boiler house has been fitted almost exclusively with equipment manufactured in Russia and that its operation can be fully automated. This will make it possible to focus employees' efforts on tackling other equally important tasks."
