Marcel Apfel will join Iconix as vice president international legal, and will be in charge of the company's legal function outside of the US. He will also be general counsel for Umbro and a member of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI). He is set to move over before the end of January. Apfel was Ministry of Sound general counsel for three years, and led on the sale of the company's recording business to Sony with external advisers Olswang and Ogier. Before that, Apfel was legal counsel and head of business development for the Americas and EMEA for Pentland Brands for 12 years.
