HITIQ Limited announced an agreement with the United Rugby Championship that will see the Nexus impact sensor technology trialled and utilised by six participating teams. Agreement overview: HITIQ will provide 160 units across the six participating teams who will utilise the Nexus system for the remainder of the 2022-2023 URC season ending in May 2023 under a non-commercial, trial period. The partnership extends HITIQ's technology footprint into the European and African elite rugby markets. The HITIQ technology will give the medical and performance staff of the participating URC teams objective insight into the frequency and intensity of head impacts.

This `hard data' can be used to assist in the identification of head impact exposure rates in playing positions, training drills and individual players. The URC boasted a viewership of more than 34 million in its 2022 inaugural season.
