Grupa Azoty : named ‘Transparent Company 2016’

Being named a transparent company also obliges us to maintain high standards of communication at the Grupa Azoty Group,' stressed Paweł Łapiński, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.

The 'Transparent Company 2016' ranking was based on a survey covering the areas of financial reporting, investor relations and corporate governance. The questionnaires were distributed to all 140 companies included in the WIG20, WIG40 and WIG80 indices. From among 64 respondents, 20 were selected as winners. The authors of the ranking believe that, given the extensive scope of reporting, the awarded companies are indeed committed to the highest standards of transparency, while the high number of respondents, the participation being voluntary, shows that striving for transparency comes naturally to the participating entities.

Business transparency is a guarantee that a company's activities are carried out in compliance with the highest standards and a signal to the investor community that the company is managed in line with their expectations. Moreover, the authors emphasise that a company can in fact profit from transparent communication, since it contributes to its fair valuation.

In addition to Grupa Azoty S.A., distinguished as a WIG40 company, the title was awarded to the following WIG20 companies: Cyfrowy Polsat, mBank, PGNIG, PKN ORLEN, PKO Bank Polski, PZU and Tauron; WIG40 companies: Bank Handlowy, Giełda Papierów Wartościowych, Grupa Kęty, KRUK, Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka, PKP Cargo, Robyg and Uniwheels; and WIG80 companies: Elektrobudowa, Ferro, Polski Holding Nieruchomości and Quercus TFI.
