GKN plc, the global engineering group, has appointed 13 of its most outstanding engineers to become Fellows of Engineering. The Fellowship scheme, launched this month at an event in Birmingham, recognises the contributions these individuals have made and creates technology ambassadors for GKN.
The Fellows will work together to provide technical leadership and advice across the company and promote engineering best practice and knowledge sharing. They will receive GKN's full commitment to enable them to remain at the forefront of their technical arenas, developing new ideas and supporting the GKN engineers of tomorrow.
The highly qualified group contains individuals from all four of GKN's divisions across the world, with a large variety of technical expertise including edrive, all-wheel drive, aerospace, powder metallurgy and wind energy. They hold many patents between them and are extremely well-connected externally in their fields, representing GKN on a huge variety of industry and Government bodies, and each work closely with academia.
Nigel Stein, Chief Executive GKN plc, said: "Our position as a global leader is built on the excellence of our engineering, and GKN Fellows are an essential component ofthis. The Fellowship scheme recognises their contribution. They will work to foster innovation to ensure GKN continues to serve its customers around the world."
