●       Joe Skrebels promoted to News Editor

Official Nintendo Magazine, the definitive monthly guide to Wii U & Nintendo 3DS, has announced Matthew Castle as Editor of the magazine, website and digital editions with immediate effect.

Matthew has been Associate Editor of ONM since August 2012 and played an integral role in the refresh of the magazine which coincided with the UK launch of Nintendo's Wii U games console that year. Prior to that Matthew was Associate Editor of Nintendo Gamer.

As part of the move, ONM's Staff Writer Joe Skrebels has also been promoted to News Editor.

Matthew says: "Having worked under some of the best editors in the business, I'm super excited to finally be able to ignore all that inherited wisdom and fill Official Nintendo Magazine with terrible Yoshi jokes. 2014 has the makings of a great year for Nintendo fans, and Team ONM can't wait to help guide them through it."

Lee Nutter, Head of Games for Future, says: "Matthew has been instrumental in driving the ONM brand forwards. His knowledge, passion and drive make him the perfect candidate to take the Editor's role."
