Santiago, January 29, 2015. In its Meeting held today, Endesa Chile's Board of Directors decided to detain the development of the Punta Alcalde generation project (740 MW) and the S/E Punta Alcalde-S/E Maitencillo Power Transmission Line, while waiting to clear up the uncertainty regarding its profitability, provisioned the value of unrecoverable assets for the amount of Ch$12,582 million (about US$22 million), which will affect the Company's net income for the year 2014 by Ch$ 9,184 million.

The Punta Alcalde Plant was submitted to environmental processing in February 2009 and had obtained its positive Environmental Qualification Resolution (RCA) in December 2012 and was ratified by the Ministers' Committee in November 2014. In turn, the S/E Punta Alcalde-S/E Maitencillo Power Transmission Line Project was currently in the environmental assessment process.

Endesa Chile, through its engineering team and with the support of its coal technology experts, studied the possibility of adapting Punta Alcalde to become a more profitable and technologically sustainable project. The conclusion reached was that such adaptations would involve major changes to the RCA, approved with great difficulty.

The Group is working on a new pipeline of projects, as well as new sites in the SING and SIC, all with the best available technology that is friendlier to the environment and the communities.
