Events highlight jobs creation and domestic manufacturing initiatives -

RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --This week, (NYSE: ELT) participated in two, high-level national leadership discussions on economic policy and American innovation. Both events took place at the White House and follow other national forums conducted in 2011 related to jobs creation and economic development, in which Elster also participated.

At the invitation of the White House, John Bluth, Elster's senior vice president, investor relations and group communications, participated in the 'Insourcing American Jobs Forum' on Wednesday.

The event featured opening remarks from President Obama, followed by panel discussions chaired by U.S. Secretary of Commerce John Brysonand Small Business Administration Administrator Karen Millsto identify actionable ideas for advancing jobs creation and stimulating U.S. investment.

Today, Munday participated in the Business Forward event, sponsored by the White House Business Council and Business Forward North Carolina. The event was designed to solicit ideas from North Carolinabusiness leaders for strengthening U.S. global competitiveness.

Additionally, Elster hosted U.S. Representative David Price(D-NC) at its facilities in Raleighthis week. Rep. Price had the opportunity to meet with senior company leaders, tour the company's state-of-the-art Smart Meter facility and conduct a Town Hall session with Elster employees.

"I enjoyed the chance to meet with employees and learn about Elster's latest contributions to Smart Grid development, which has great potential to help consumers and communities realize energy savings," Rep. Price said.
