Eaton Vance Limited Duration Income Fund reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2013. For the three months, the fund had net investment income of $28,621,635 or $0.243 per common share compared to net investment income of $31,765,428 or $0.270 per common share reported a year ago. Net investment income after the preferred dividends was $28,547,117 or $0.243 per common share compared to $31,634,676 or $0.269 per common share reported a year ago. Net realized and unrealized gains were $8,762,606 or $0.067 per common share compared to $35,432,302 or $0.295 per common share reported a year ago.
For the six months, the fund had net investment income of $57,651,062 or $0.490 per common share compared to $63,523,169 or $0.541 per common share reported a year ago. Net investment income after the preferred dividends was $57,488,856 or $0.489 per common share compared to $63,272,789 or $0.539 per common share reported a year ago. The net asset value per common share on September 30, 2013 was $16.34 compared to $16.74 as on September 30, 2012. Eaton Vance Limited Duration Income Fund (the Fund) is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fundâs primary investment objective is to provide a high level of current income. The Fund may, as a secondary objective, also seek capital appreciation to the extent it is consistent with its primary objective. The Fund is focused on investing approximately 25% of its total assets in investments rated investment grade, including United States Government securities, which may include United States Treasuries and mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and other securities issued, backed, or otherwise guaranteed by the United States Government, or its agencies or instrumentalities, commercial MBS, and corporate debt obligations. The Fund invests in various sectors, including aerospace and defense, air transport, automotive, biotechnology, building and development, and cable and satellite television. The Fund's investment advisor is Eaton Vance Management (EVM).
