Daily Mail and General Trust : RMS wins InsuranceERM award for Best Catastrophe Risk Modeling Solution

DMGT is proud to announce that RMS has won the Best Catastrophe Risk Modeling Solution for the RMS Europe Inland Flood Models® at this year's annual InsuranceERM Awards.

The RMS Europe Inland Flood Models® can simultaneously capture complex risk at individual property levels as well as across the continent. In the last twenty years, flooding has accounted for one-third of all European natural catastrophe losses, and flood risk can differ significantly between properties only meters apart let alone across the whole of Europe. The new RMS model is a major step forward in the industry as it exploits the computational power of the official RMS cloud partner, Microsoft Azure to represent flood risk while using the latest scientific evidence at a highly granular level.

The prestigious awards seek to recognise the very best in risk management and actuarial and risk modelling practices in the UK and European markets. The winners of each category are voted for by a group of judges comprised of CROs, Chief Actuaries, ERM Directors and Heads of Financial Risk from 20 different insurers across the UK and Europe.
